About The Cover

ONLINE COVER 10 Years of ROS. From computers to phones to robots, all hardware needs good software to maximize its functionality. To safely weld a car body, a robot arm needs instructions on positioning and welding and an accounting of its local environment. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Robot Operating System (ROS), a set of open-source tools, libraries, and conventions to simplify the coding of complex and robust behavior across a wide variety of robotic platforms. Through its encouragement of collaboration, ROS now has thousands of users in domains from small-scale tabletop robots to industrial settings. [CREDIT: XIEYULIANG/SHUTTERSTOCK.COM]
